Murray Ettle
Principal Dentist, GDC 63845
Murray qualified from Dundee in 1988 and on graduating, he worked in Dundee Dental Hospital in the Restorative Department. He has been in general practice in Dumfries since 1989, firstly as an associate, then as a partner and currently the practice owner.
Murray has always been keen to further his knowledge and keeps up to date with the latest techniques but has kept prevention as the core ethos in his practice.
In his spare time, Murray enjoys country pursuits, especially fishing and exercising his springer spaniels, Murphy and Alfie. He also enjoys tennis and travelling abroad, especially to Africa where he photographs the wildlife…as you will see in the practice!
Kenneth Macintyre
Associate Dentist, GDC 71625
Kenny qualified from Glasgow University in 1996. He then spent a year at Dundee Dental Hospital as a senior house officer in oral surgery and orthodontics, followed by a year in practice in Montrose. He moved to Dumfries in 1998 and joined this practice in January 2006. Taking over an established list, Kenny has maintained a strong emphasis on prevention and pain free dentistry.
Away from work, Kenny enjoys outdoor pursuits including golf, cycling and skiing…at least when his young family, wife and Smokey, the cat allows!
Sandra Leaney
Dental Hygienist (GDC 3162)
Sandra qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1986 from Edinburgh School of Oral Hygiene and joined the practice shortly afterwards.
With over 30 years experience working in both general dental practice and with the health board, and as a Tutor in both Hygiene Therapy and Dental Nursing, she is well placed to help our patients achieve excellent oral health. In doing so, she supports the dentists and visiting specialists with a preventative approach.
Sandra is also our Practice Manager and through her stewardship, ensured the Practice had an exemplary audit.
At home, Sandra and her husband, Stephen, have 2 grown up children and enjoy walking their Jack Russell, Bradley. Sandra also runs with the Dumfries Running Club…very slowly, she adds!
Olive Melville
Reception Manager
Olive joined the practice in June 2015 as Reception Manager after working for a local High Street bank for some 30+ years, both in the UK and abroad.
Olive enjoys meeting our patients and helping to put them at ease and likes nothing better than creating spread sheets!
In her spare time Olive enjoys riding her horses, walking her dogs and cooking.
Louise King
Dental Nurse, GDC 138596
Louise has been a dental nurse since 2000 and joined us in 2010. Louise likes the variety her job offers and says that no 2 days are ever the same.
She is kept busy at home with 2 children, Rose and Sam, but any free time she gets Louise likes nothing better than chilling out with family and friends.
Jayne Stuart
Dental Nurse, GDC 215184
Jayne joined the practice as a receptionist in 2008 and went on to qualify as a dental nurse.
At home, Jayne is kept busy with her young daughter Jasmine and in the little spare time she has, she enjoys horse riding.
Chris Wilson, GDC 266962
Senior Dental Nurse
Chris joined our practice in Jan 2022. A qualified dental nurse since 2016 he comes to us having had 5 years valuable chairside experience elsewhere. He enjoys meeting patients and helping to put them at ease.
Outside work when Chris is not busy renovating his house, he is a mad keen motorsport enthusiast and golfer.
Alison Maxwell
Dental Receptionist
Alison joined our practice early 2022 having previously worked in the housing sector. She enjoys meeting the patients and placing them at ease. In her spare time when she's not busy with family, she enjoys live music and is a keen concert goer.
Penny McLatchie
Dental Hygienist
Penny qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1999 in Dundee and came straight back home to the area where she’s always loved. When not helping patients maintain their oral health she loves the outdoors. A passion for horses throughout life has been passed on to daughter Freya and they ride out at weekends, often accompanied by Charlie their Jack Russell.
